The Building
Sun Apartments is one of Brisbane’s most iconic historic buildings. Built in 1929, it served as the home of some of Australia’s most renowned newspaper publishing companies throughout the twentieth century. The building’s rich journalistic history is still evident today, with original newspaper signage proudly displayed throughout. Visitors exploring levels 2 and 3 will discover a unique historical touch – the names of the newspapers once housed here are beautifully engraved into the atrium handrails.
In 1996, the building was transformed into distinctive residential, warehouse-style apartments. The interior was thoughtfully refurbished to preserve key original features while enhancing the living experience for guests. Each apartment has been individually designed and furnished to maximize its unique space, offering options that range from cosy, sunlit lofts to spacious, airy penthouses.

Our luxurious three-story penthouse, affectionately dubbed The Rockstar Penthouse, is one of the largest, most central, and most unique apartments in Brisbane. Thoughtfully renovated and furnished to provide event accommodation unlike anywhere else. Most people book the penthouse for wedding accommodation, hens weekends, birthdays, family reunions, corporate accommodation, or because they’re just after an awesome place to stay. It does book out months in advance so don’t dilly dally.
